Instructor: Pastor Randy Hoxie – G.Th., B.Th.
Pastor Randy Hoxie is one of our adjunct faculty here at Pacific West Baptist College. Pastor Hoxie earned his Graduate of Theology at Parkland Bible Schools in 1975. Then, he went to Central Baptist Theological Seminary and earned his Bachelor of Theology in 1980.
Currently, Pastor Hoxie is pastoring Faith Baptist Church in Chilliwack, B.C. He is a great teacher and a faithful servant of God.
Course Description
Ecclesiology is the study of the doctrine of the Church. Our course employs a systematic approach. Contrary views will sometimes be cited, which helps clarify the proper view. The Scriptures are upheld as our final authority.
Course Requirements
A. Pray for each class.
B. Take notes. The content of testing will come from both the syllabus and class discussion.
C. Weekly quizzes will be given. Each quiz may cover the preceding class or an accumulation of previous classes.
D. There will be two exams, a midterm and a final. Due to the subject’s nature, some things may overlap from the first half into the second half of the semester.
E. A term paper on a relevant subject within the syllabus is required. It must be no less than 1,000 words for 1st-year students, 1,500 for 2nd and 3rd-year students and 2,000 for 4th-year students. Exceptions can be made through proper arrangements.
F. Select extra reading from various sources on the subject of ecclesiology.
G. It is recommended that you keep a reading report. Record your reading each time you read a source concerning ecclesiology.
